The Betrayal of Renegade X

Book 3 in the Renegade X series.

Damien thinks he has the whole hero thing figured out–he’s getting good grades at Heroesworth and acing all his missions–at least until he zaps an unarmed bad guy he believes tortured and murdered children. It turns out the “bad guy” was actually a superhero working with the school. The mission was staged, and Damien blew it.

Now his best friend refuses to work with him, his dad is considering getting him professional help, and everyone’s questioning whether or not he has a future as a hero–including his grandpa, who will do anything to ensure Damien’s future lies in villainy. His grandpa creates a villain organization called the Truth, intent on exposing the way heroes really treat villains. But when the Truth launches its plan and the whole city erupts in chaos, Damien is caught between the opposing sides, and his future is anything but certain.

With heroes and villains bent on destroying each other, it’s up to him to do whatever it takes to stop the fighting, even if it means betraying the people closest to him.

Do you have a set date in which book 3’s audiobook will be ready? If so will the audio book be free or will the audiobook of book 3 be free or will you have to pay for it ?

There’s no set date, but I expect it to out mid – late spring. It will not be free. I don’t set the prices on the audiobooks, so I can’t say for sure, but I would guess the price would be similar to the audiobook for book 2, since they’re similar lengths.

Not yet. I talked about it in a blog post, but basically I’m waiting for contracts for another project to come in (so I can get paid), and once all that happens, then I’ll be able to fund the next audiobook. I expected the contracts to be done months ago, but it’s taking longer than I thought. But everything is still happening!

I am sure you get tired of these questions, but is there any update on the Audio books? I absolutely love these books, my mother does too. However she has dyslexia and it is very hard for her to read. Audio books have brought her so much joy. This series in particular.

Thank you!

I’m always happy to hear that people are still looking forward to more audiobooks! I’m just sorry I haven’t been able to get the next audiobook out when expected. I’ve literally been waiting for a year for a contract to come through that would pay for the rest of the audiobooks, and it has been incredibly frustrating, especially knowing that everyone’s waiting for these! I promise the rest of the series is coming out in audiobook, just as soon as I can get the funding for it. This is something I care deeply about–I take my audiobooks very seriously–and I will make this happen.

I know you already saw the answer to this and commented, but I’m answering anyway for anyone else who sees this and is wondering the same thing. I just finished running a kickstarter to produce an audio version of book 3, but we only made it to 37%, so… no audiobook. I would still love to make more audiobooks, so I’m not giving up on them, but I don’t know if or when I’d ever be able to afford another one on my own, so for now, it’s not happening.

I would love to get an audio book version of the third book. Is there something you need to get it done?

Do you need a voice actor or something else? so I can help you get it done ?

Thank you for the offer, but I love the voice actor I’ve already got, and I can’t imagine anyone else narrating these. The real issue is having enough funds all at once, since producing these is out-of-pocket, and it’s been so long now that I have no idea if I’d sell enough copies to make the money back.
